Airline food sucks, but I miss the old box lunch airplane meals from the 1960’s.
The box contained two fresh bologna sandwiches, a hard boiled egg, an apple, a chocolate bar, and a stick of gum.
Nothing fancy, but fresh and edible . . .
This is the foreigners version of the airline lunch box, with a fresh orange and a tomato. Don't ask what you do with the cucumber:

Interestingly, they are all European airline meals. European airline meals can gag a maggot. I once got a “ham” sandwich, with a single slice of wafer ham so thin that it was transparent!
Janet called it a “ham scented” sandwich, slate bread with a hint of ham smell . . .
How about some cold, gray slimy herring for lunch?
