The Onion goes racist

I’m old enough to remember the days when it was OK to poke fun at people’s ethnicity, back in the days when we had Jack Benny and Rochester, and it was OK to mock people based on their racial traits and mannerisms.

But it was not just black people, we also saw Jose Jimenez, the Frito Bandito, Speedy Gonzales and Bill Richardson, all presented to mock Hispanic people.

Even younger folks remember Jar-Jar Binks channeling Stepin Fetchit, but it’s no longer necessary to create aliens to mock racial groups.

Witness this new racist entry by the Onion, titled “Boy finds real-world E.T.”:

Boy Finds Own Real-Life E.T.
