Familiarity breeds contempt while rarity wins admiration!
My father was a manager and he believed that the old aggage "familiarity breeds contempt" is true, you should never become buddies with your employees. It’s super important never to fraternize with your underlings, and some organization (Large Corporations, the Military) have strict rules against "fraternization". I had never seen the full quote before, and it’s worthy managerial advice that is several thousand years old! “Familiarity breeds contempt, while rarity wins admiration.” Quoted from Apuleius, a Roman philosopher Stetch of Apuleius
