The First Amendment and the Stolen Valor Act

With all of the court cases about the Stolen Valor Act, we see cowards claiming their First Amendment rights to pretend to be military heroes, we just need to look to the founding fathers for guidance.

Severe Punishment - Show no mercy to valor stealers

George Washington invented the first US military medal (The Purple Heart) and was crystal clear about there being a severe punishment for posers. By severe, George was referring to death by hanging, and he viewed posers as being as bad as deserters and traitors:

“Should any who are not entitled to these honors have the insolence to assume the badges of them they shall be severely punished" - George Washington

Judges need to start imposing the maximum sentences for Stolen Valor, no excuses, show no mercy.

Support the stolen valor act and encourage judges to impose the maximum prison terms for those who dishonor real American heroes.
