Independence Day!

Penn & Teller say during their show that there is no better way to appreciate being American than to take a trip overseas, and it’s quite true.

Freedom is never free, and today is to honor those who sacrificed so that we have the freedom that we enjoy today.

Like JFK said “Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names”, and I cringe when I hear hippies talking about allowing Germany and Japan to re-arm themselves . . .

In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself. ~ Thomas Paine

Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity, and hardihood -- the virtues that made America. ~ Teddy Roosevelt

Our citizenship in the United States is our national character. Our citizenship in any particular state is only our local distinction. By the latter we are known at home, by the former to the world. Our great title is AMERICANS… ~ Thomas Paine

Happy Independence Day!
